Recap
A pair of Flames goals in each of the first 2 periods helped them to leads they never fully relinquished the rest of the way during an eventual 5-2 win over the visiting Dundee Stars. Opening goals by Jack Jacome at 5: 49 then Cole Ully on a powerplay around the 10 minute mark set them in front by a pair, but a Stars reply by Kameron Kielly cut their deficit in half which is where things stood at the close of period play. Marcus Tesink extended the home team lead at 21:31. Another quick reply this time from Bradley Schoonbaert less than a minute later again had the visitors just a goal off the pace, but Josh Nixon in the 35th minute re-stored the 2 goal difference they carried into the 3rd. Just outside the last half of the final set, Travis Brown added some insurance with the Flames 5th and Mathieu Gosselin closed out the final score in the in the 54th minute. Justin Fazio recorded the win with 17 saves on 19 shots while Jarrett Fiske went 14 for 20. Gallery |
