D Hoffman Added
Canadian Defenceman Zack Hoffman was a deadline transfer to complete the Flames 24-25 roster. The 27 year old split the early part of this season with ECHL Rapid City Rush and Bloomington Bison. The 6’3”, 215lb skater made his pro debut at the end of the 21-22 campaign following 3 university seasons, icing at the pro level for the first time with 25 games and 5 points at Fayetteville Marksmen in 2022. From 2022 to his EIHL transfer with Flames, the native of Toronto, Canada played 172 ECHL games, registering 6 goals and 29 points with Rush, Bison and Wichita Thunder. In 3 seasons at USports Saint Mary’s University, between 2019 and 2022, Hoffman iced 32 times, scoring a goal and 4 points. He played back to back junior terms in the GOJHL from 2015-2017 with La Salle Vipers with whom he posted 34 points in 97 starts. He followed that up with Utah Outliers in the WSHL for the 17-18 set before his final development season at CCHL in 2018-2019 at Navan Grads where he was an All Graduate team selection, First All Star, Defenceman of the Year and Most Valuable player. “We have not had a lot of luck this season with injuries and while we did get some forwards back, we still have 25% of our D roster out of the lineup, with others still playing banged up.” said Paul Dixon. “Once that deadline passes there are no further additions so it is better to be safe than sorry and give ourselves some breathing space and hope we can be close to a full roster most nights through the end of the season.” “He will not be available this weekend, but we will work as fast as we can on the business side of readying him for action to get him into a game as soon as possible.” |
