Recap
Flames took a slim lead to break up a mid game 2-2 tie before adding 3 unanswered in the final frame on the way to a 6-2 win over the visiting Fife Flyers. Just 39 seconds after puck drop, Flyers stepped in front with an Anton Karlsson goal, but Jake Gravelle’s first of the season shortly thereafter levelled at a goal each and that is how it stayed through end of the set. Early in the 2nd, Travis Brown nudged Flames into their first lead. Logan Neilson at 27:27 squared it in return for Flyers, but less than 60 seconds later Jack Jacome had the hosts back in front to ensure an advantage to start the 3rd. Jacome added his 2nd of the evening less than 3 minutes past re-start. A 48th minute powerplay conversion by Cole Ully extended again and Mathieu Gosselin closed the scoring when he bagged the 6th at 48:56. Justin Fazio made 27 saves on 29 shots for the hosts while Christian Purboo went 47 of 53 on the pucks his way. Gallery |
