Recap
Flames broke up a 1-1 tie in the 3rd period with 5 straight goals against no reply, including 3 across 76 seconds to close out a Scottish doubleheader 4 point sweep on the back of a 6-1 win at Fife Flyers. The first period ticked away with no scoring thanks to 15 stops by Fife’s Christian Purboo while Justin Fazio for Flames had no blemishes on 13. Early in the 2nd, Flames found themselves on a 5 on 3 powerplay they didn’t convert but shortly after Flyers returned a 4th skater to the ice, the visitors bagged a man advantage goal off the stick of Matt Alvaro. However, with just 5 seconds left in the frame, Johan Porsberger ensured the teams would be all square at a goal each through 40 minutes. Fazio turned away 29 of 30 shots while Purboo was 36 of 42.
