Recap
After a low scoring 1-1 regulation tie at Nottingham that gave each team a point, it was the home team who picked up the extra when they scored about halfway through 3 on 3 overtime to deliver a 2-1 defeat to Flames. In a scoreless opening frame, Flames netminder Taz Buman was forced to make 18 stops against a much quieter start for Kevin Carr who turned away 5 for Panthers. The middle set looked like it too might not see any scoring but Matt Alvaro changed that when he kicked off the count a little under 3 minutes from period time. Just under 5 minutes into the 3rd, Panthers pulled it even through Tim Doherty to force extra time where Matthew Marcinew delivered the final blow. Burman made 33 saves on 35 shots while Carr was 22 for 23. Gallery |
