Recap
Taz Burman allowed only a single and a couple of early 3rd period Travis Brown goals put some distance between the sides as the Flames posted a 5-1 win at Manchester Storm. With a nearly even split of just 11 1st period shots, Taz Burman and Drew DeRidder kept the game scoreless through the opening set. In a penalty filled 2nd, Flames had the only goal when Tyler Preziuso set them to a lead in the 26th minute and they maintained that slim margin to begin the 3rd. Seconds into the last stanza, Brown extended the difference to a pair and he made it a 3 goal spread at 48:28. A Joseph Nardi powerplay reply in the 53rd minute broke Burman’s bid for a shutout, but an Ethan Strang empty netter and an immediate Mathieu Gosselin follow up with the goaltender back on duty closed out the final result. Burman turned away all but 1 of 14 shots while DeRidder was 19 of 23. Gallery |
