Cardiff Devils jumped on Flames with 3 unanswered first period goals and never looked back on their way to a 7-1 home ice win over the visiting Spectrum side.

Cole Sanford scored back to back to get it started at 11:12 and 14:54 before Kristoff Kontos added another just 10 seconds from close of the frame. 

Gleason Fournier extended the lead in the 26^th minute and former Flames Captain Brett Ferguson made it a 5-0 count when he netted before the end of the middle set.

On their 4^th powerplay a little over 7 minutes from time, Jake Coughler got Flames on the board, but less than a minute later Sanford’s Hat Trick goal cancelled that one out before Josh MacDonald’s goal 58:50 completed the final count.   

Jake Kupsky made 51 saves on 58 shots against Devils’ Ben Bowns who turned away 28 of 29.
