Recap
Justin Fazio conceded just a single to support 5 unanswered 2nd period goals that followed a pair in the first as Flames built an insurmountable lead on the way to an eventual 8-1 win over the visiting Dundee Stars. Inside the back half of the opening frame, Jake Coughler put the home team in the lead and Cole Ully doubled it on a late period powerplay. Seconds into the middle set, Josh Waller made it a 3 goal spread and Ully’s 2nd powerplay conversion followed to extend the difference. A Josh Nixon strike then a brace by Jack Jacome late in the frame, the last one on a powerplay, had Flames fully in command, 7-0 through 40 minutes. Just under 5 minutes into the 2nd, Nick Seitz scored his opener in Flames kit and 72 seconds from time Keanu Yamamoto spoiled Fazio’s bid for a shutout to change the score but not the result.
