Recap
Through a night of back and forth scoring, Coventry Blaze has the first and the last to secure a 4-3 home win over the visiting Flames. Blaze left the opening frame with a 2-1 lead thanks to Connor Russel early and Colton Saucerman late, but sandwiched in between was an Ethan Strang marker. Flames began the middle set with a powerplay and Tyler Busch converted to level it, but a few minutes later, just at the expiry of a Blaze extra man situation, Kim Tallberg set the home side back in front. Strang’s 2nd around the midway mark evened it for a 3rd time, but a 33rd minute Grayson Constable strike meant Blaze remained a goal ahead at the close of the frame. A final session saw Flames with a pair of powerplays inside the final 10 minutes, but they couldn’t turn either into goals and the Blaze added a Tallberg empty netter 26 seconds from time to close out defeat for Spectrum’s men. Taz Burman stopped 29 of 33 shots against Matt Robson who was 38 of 41. Gallery |
