Recap

Jamal Watson had a 3 goal 2nd period to help Flames recover from an early deficit before pulling away over the remaining time en route to a 7-2 road win over the Fife Flyers.

A little under 4 minutes in, the hosts stepped into a lead thanks to a Johan Porsberge strike and they retained their slim margin through the 1st break.

Just 59 seconds into the middle set, Watson levelled, and Marcus Tesink set Flames to their first lead of the contest less than 2 minutes after that.  At 31:28 Watson’s 2nd expanded the difference, and his hat trick marker followed 20 seconds later.  Well into the back half of the frame, during a Flames powerplay, an equipment interference infraction gave Flames a penalty shot that Cole Ully promptly used to make it a 5-1 count through 40 minutes.

Inside the last 10 minutes, goals by Charlie Curti and Tyler Busch made it 7 before Vlastimil Dostálek with a 58th minute powerplay goal for the home team completed the evening’s goal count.

Justin Fazio made 38 saves on 40 shots for Flames against Shane Owen who was 20 for 27 in opposition.
