After giving up the opener, Flames proceeded to bag the next 5 unanswered the rest of the way to secure the first league win of the campaign with a 5-1 success over the visiting Glasgow Clan. On a powerplay at 6:50 Richard Jarůšek set Clan to a lead, but Jack Jacome hit back in the 11th minute to send the teams to break on a goal apiece. A double minor for high sticking to Clan before the midway mark put the home team on continuous back to back powerplays. They were unable to convert the first one but with time winding down on the 2nd, Tyler Busch, with what turned into the winner, made it a 2-1 Flames lead. Inside the last minute, a foul on Jamal Wason chance gave the home team a penalty shot that Cole Ully made the most of to put the hosts up a pair through 40 minutes. At 48:02, Mathieu Gosselin extended the lead to 3 and a late shorthanded empty net goal by Josh Nixon as Clan tried to pull closer completed the result.
