Recap
Nottingham Panthers scored 4 unanswered 2nd period goals to take an unassailable lead on the way to a 6-1 league defeat of Spectrum’s men. With just over 4 minutes to go in the 1st, Panthers looked to have converted a powerplay for a lead. A video review set the score back to how it started, but 63 seconds from time they did in fact move in front off the stick of Bryan Lemos and held the lead into the 2nd. Shortly after re-start, Brendan Harris doubled the difference. Mitch Fossier made it 3 at 27:21 and just beyond halfway Ross Armour spread it to 4 and they added a late Chase Pearson goal to make it 5-0 at the break. Flames finally got on the board early in the 3rd through Mathieu Gosselin, pulling it back to 5-1, but a Flames major penalty to Marcus Tesink put them down a man for a full 5 minutes where Panthers added one more for good measure off the stick of Pearson in the 48th minute to close out the scoring. Flames Taz Burman stopped 17 of 22 shots; Justin Fazio in relief went 7 of 8 while Jason Grande for Panthers was 12 of 13. Gallery |
