FAQ
How can I get tickets?
Tickets are available from Spectrum box office. they can be purchased online (see link on the home page or ticket section of this site); by calling 01483 443322, or in person at Spectrum reception.
How long does a game last?
Matches are 60 minutes of playing time (3 20 minute periods), but stoppages in play and two 18 minute intervals make the real time duration of the match in the two to two and a half hour range.
When does the Flames season run?
The ice hockey season generally runs from early September to mid April. Finishing dates depend on the club's success in advancing to the playoffs.
Do the Flames use British players?
The Flames have at least 5 British players on the roster, but rosters are predominantly foreign sourced from North America and mainland Europe.
Is there parking at the arena?
Spectrum has a sizeable car park that is free to all users of the facility. Spectrum is a busy building so it is advisable to allow a bit of extra time for parking prior to a game.
Is the rink near any public transit?
A park and ride service is offered from the Friary bus station to Spectrum and back. The bus transfer point is a 5 minute walk from the Guildford mainline train station.
Is food served at Spectrum?
Spectrum has fully catered food outlets including Cafeteria/Coffee, Burrito Loco and Strikes Pizza. There are also licensed outlets on the premises.
How can I meet a player after the game?
You can book an on ice presentation with a player by calling Flames office on 01483 452244 ex 3. There is a charge for these arrangements.
Why are family tickets not available in E or I block?
E and I block are very limited in seating numbers and are at or near capacity for every home game. Because of those limited numbers, any discounts offered in that section cannot be recovered by selling more seats because there are no more to sell in those blocks.
Do I need to book tickets ahead of the game or can I get them on the night?
Subject to availability tickets are sold right up until game time. The Flames average roughly 90% capacity, and do sell out from time to time, so the earlier you book the better your selection of seats will be.
Is ice hockey suitable for children?
Yes. A Flames match is operated as family entertainment. Indeed nearly 25% of attendees on match night enter on children's tickets, and at least 200 (50 x 4) family tickets are sold for each home match.
