Hook Returns
Former GB national team forward Lewis Hook will return for the 2nd season of a 3 year deal. The 28 year old iced 60 times this past season, registering 34 points from 12 goals and 22 assists after a 57 point haul in his first stint with the club. The 6’0’, 180lb skater spent the bulk of the previous 5 terms with Belfast Giants including his hand in their 22-23 Grand Slam haul. He also had a short stop for 16 games Kitzbüheler EC in Austria that same season and spent the 20-21 Elite series during the covid shut down with Nottingham Panthers. Hook has iced in more than 400 EIHL games and has posted 89 goals and 224 points. Under national team colours, Hook has 13 caps at the Elite world championship senior level as well as a bronze and gold medal while with the GB U20’s during his development career. Head Coach Paul Dixon discussed his return: “We were happy when Lewis took a long term commitment to us and we are looking forward to his return to the lineup.” “Lewis played the entire schedule with a niggling injury that never really went away, and hopefully now we are out of season it can be fully handled to give him the opportunity to play without that concern every time he gets on the ice.” “Like we said with Josh, Lewis is a top British player and he is a big part of our forward group so we expect he will have a big impact for the role he slots into with the new look lineup that will be in place when puck drops.” |
