Former Flames Defenceman Kyle Locke, who was scheduled to return to Guildford for the 2nd year of an existing contract, will now instead transfer to Manchester Storm for the 25-26 season.

“Once Kyle was well into his post surgical rehab, he was heading home to Canada a month or so early and at that time he informed us that he was looking for a material change regarding his 2nd contract season,” said Head Coach and GM Paul Dixon.

“We understood his perspective and what he was seeking, but contracts are based on planned resource allocation, and it cannot be a moving target for us. Unfortunately, we could not offer what he was asking for the remaining season.”

“He told us he was going to look around for other options. We let him know that if he found what he wanted elsewhere, we would arrange with the new team to facilitate a transfer as long as we could recover any liabilities based on planning for Kyle to be here for 2 seasons.”

“We appreciate Kyle’s 4 seasons of service to this club, and we wish him all the best with Storm as he starts out on a new chapter in his playing career.”
